The Canada Greener Homes Loan remains open until further notice, and offers interest-free financing to help Canadians make their homes more energy-efficient and comfortable.

A maximum of one loan is available per eligible property and homeowner.
The maximum eligible loan amount is calculated based on the retrofits selected in the application and the quotes for this work. The eligible amount is capped based on industry standards and market norms. The maximum eligible loan amount may be less than your quoted cost, in which case you will be responsible for funding any difference.

Pre-qualify your home
Call Windfall Home Energy at 1-866-280-4431 to pre-qualify your home. Our home energy experts will pre-qualify you over the phone and arrange for your (pre-retrofit) Home Energy Evaluation with a Registered Energy Advisor. The evaluation will take approximately 2 to 3 hours and your energy advisor will provide you with a written report and clearly explain all your retrofit options.
Submit a loan application
Using the report file ID provided by your Registered Energy Advisor, submit a loan application on the Canada Greener Homes Loans (CGHL) website. The program generally asks for 2 to 3 quotes for each retrofit you plan to apply for.
Complete your retrofits
Once you have been approved for a loan amount, up to 15% of the loan can be delivered up front if a deposit is required by your contractor. You can now go ahead and complete your planned retrofits within the 1-year deadline they provide. Canada Greener Homes Loans may rescind the loan offer if your retrofits take longer than one year.
Complete your post-retrofit evaluation
Call Windfall Home Energy (1-866-280-4431) to schedule and complete your post-retrofit evaluation. The post-retrofit evaluation takes 1 to 2 hours. We will then submit your paperwork to Canada Greener Homes Loan and then you can request funding through your application portal. Loans will be disbursed through direct deposit.
