How to Be A Food Detective
Tursday, March 31, 2016
Regency Acres Primary School
6:00pm
Special parent-child class looking into what we eat. Participants learn why they need to be Food Detectives in today's world. They'll see first-hand how the food industry targets them in advertising, and how messages on food packages can be misleading.
They'll learn how to read food labels and to independently draw conclusions about what's really in their food. We'll specifically highlight the issue of added sugar in processed/packaged food and drinks, and we'll teach participants how to calculate this amount.
There will be a vibrant rainbow based snack to prepare and eat together, and we'll talk about how all different types of foods can fit into a healthy pattern of eating.
