By entering your video in the*Solar Idol Contest, you have a chance to win:

The Producer of the Best Overall Entry will receive $500, and their school will receive a Virtual SolarVu Site, donated by Cachelan SolarVu Energy Portal!

A Virtual SolarVu Site is a web energy portal used to manage solar power generating systems with smart grid technology. SolarVu Sites allows schools with solar power generating systems to monitor their system's power generation, revenue, efficiency, payback and carbon footprint. A Virtual SolarVu Site will allow the winning school to use the data collected from an Ontario school's current solar power generating system for learning purposes. Curriculum and lesson plans are included along with the Virtual SolarVu Site. This Virtual SolarVu Site will allow the winning school to begin using solar energy curriculum and lesson plans immediately, with real data, without waiting for a solar energy system to be installed on their school's rooftop!

The People's Choice Award will be granted to the video submission that receives the highest number of peer votes on the *Solar Idol Video Channel on Vimeo.

In case of an individual entry, prizes will be awarded to the person named on the registration form as the Producer of the video.

In the case of a school, classroom, or *Solar Idol Team entry, prizes will be awarded to the school, classroom or to the person designated by the school, classroom, and/or *Solar Idol Team as the Producer of the video. It is the responsibility of the school and/or facilitating teacher to divide the prize evenly and fairly among participating students.
