A Note About Copyright

All footage, videos, images, and/or music must be original - video submissions cannot contain footage, videos, images, and/or music that has not been created by the participant, unless clearance to use them has been received.

Footage, videos, images, and/or music cannot be copy-righted - it must be royalty-free!

If it is legal to use footage, video, images, and/or music obtained from the internet, with credit given to sources, you may use them. However, the onus is on the student participant to ensure that the video submission is legal.

Proof of clearance and permission may be requested by the *Solar Idol Contest and Windfall administrative team if the video is selected as a finalist.

Royalty-free videos, images and music are available on the internet, however, royalty-free does not mean free!

We encourage students to get creative and to produce their own film footage, images and music/sound effects.
