Taylor Cain

Aurora, Ontario

Taylor Cain healthy kids Ambassador

Taylor was born and raised in Aurora and is a true ambassador for the Healthy Kids Community Challenge so we went to interview her. She greeted us with a warm smile along with her dog Beans. Taylor is a 9 year old with a ton of energy. She spends her free time doing all kinds of exercise and fun things.

Gemma:

What things do you do to keep Healthy?

Taylor:

I love to go out for walks with my dog, Beans. I also swim regularly and dance sometimes. I love to play soccer too.

Gemma:

Why do you think the Healthy Kids Community Challenge is important?

Taylor:

I think it is important because everyone is lazing around right now and we need to get up and start being more active, playing outside and having fun, because if you don't you are going to end up being unhealthy.

Gemma:

What are your favourite places to get outside in Aurora?

Taylor:

I love going to the playground in the Town Park and in the summer I love having fun in the splash pad there. I also have Shepard's Bush Conservation Area as my back garden so I love to get out there.

Gemma:

How do you make sure that you are eating healthily?

Taylor:

I love oranges and I try and eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. My best friend and I always have healthy lunches as our mums are careful to pack us healthy food. I can also cook! I have cooked toast, omelettes, stuffed pasta shells, bread and even made cupcakes for a treat. I started young; I made my first fruit salad at 4 years old!

Gemma:

Who is your inspiration?

Taylor:

I would say Beans, my dog is my inspiration. He loves going outside, he doesn't get tired and even when he is tired, he still goes outside for a walk. He gets me to go outside with him even if at first I don't feel like it.
